Steve Osani here. I look forward to addressing your group again on September 8th. The last time we met I spoke about weight loss and my personal journey. This time I will give you an inside look at Ultracycling and the training that has gotten me ready for the two races I will tell you about, Race across the West, and the Hoodoo 300. I will speak about the periodization training, recovery, fueling during training and during the races, plus a lot of stories from the long rides.
So please join me on September 8th. I look forward to seeing there. Thank you.

Newsletter! Folks on Spokes:

Group rides start from  Smith St. train parking lot in Greenlawn.  Riders of all ability are welcome to join. Smith Street For faster rides we have a racing team (multiple podium finishes in recent years!).
The Club tour of the north shore ‘gold coast’ of Long Island was packed with riders from all over the tri-state area who got a taste of the hills. Check out our facebook page to see photos that have been uploaded and upload some of your own! We are in the planning stages for an even better ride for 2015. Check our Safety Page for tips and tricks for safer riding.
The Huntington Bicycle Club, Inc. is a non-profit club organized to promote safe, enjoyable bicycle rides and to share information on cycling safety, fitness, equipment and maintenance. HBC is a member of the League of American Bicyclists and part of an organization in New York that promotes and protects the rights and welfare of all bicycling enthusiasts. HBC has committed to donate lunches once per month for the next year to the patients of the VA Hospital in Northport.  The lunches will be provided as part of special events held for various groups of veterans and organized by special interest.
