Welcome to the Huntington Bicycle Club

The first club meeting for 2015 is rescheduled for Wed. April 8th!  Mark your calendar. Pizza starts at 7:00 and the agenda starts at 7:30  (March 3rd was snowed out – library closed early)

  • Our topics will be a SAFETY lesson by Arne Johnson
  • Kathy Eaton, a certified nutritionist, of Huntington Fit Body Boot Camp will lecture on “Nutrition and Cycling”.
  • This year the Gold Coast will be donating to Kids Need More Camp, a representative will be at the meeting.
  • Lastly, our brand new NEWBIE CORNER will be instructed by Jay Bender.  The topic will be “Proper use of bicycle gearing”.

Huntington Bicycle Club 2014 official rides ended in November, however many club members are still riding and coordinate through the listserve and weekend ‘show and go‘ rides. Hopefully the snow will be gone before too long. We also have over 200 cue sheets for those who want to venture out on their own.

Gold Coast Tour

2015 Gold Coast Tour scheduled for Sunday, July 12th, 2015 to benefit Kids Need More Camp Adventure for children diagnosed with cancer.

Group rides start from  Smith St. train parking lot in Greenlawn.  Riders of all ability are welcome to join. Smith Street For faster rides we have a racing team (multiple podium finishes in recent years!).
The Club tour of the north shore ‘gold coast’ of Long Island was packed with riders from all over the tri-state area who got a taste of the hills. Check out our facebook page to see photos that have been uploaded and upload some of your own! We are in the planning stages for an even better ride for 2015. Check our Safety Page for tips and tricks for safer riding.
The Huntington Bicycle Club, Inc. is a non-profit club organized to promote safe, enjoyable bicycle rides and to share information on cycling safety, fitness, equipment and maintenance. HBC is a member of the League of American Bicyclists and part of an organization in New York that promotes and protects the rights and welfare of all bicycling enthusiasts. HBC has committed to donate lunches once per month for the next year to the patients of the VA Hospital in Northport.  The lunches will be provided as part of special events held for various groups of veterans and organized by special interest.
